This upcoming June will prove to be my one year anniversary of being a blonde! And to be quite honest
with you...going blonde has changed my life. It's the color of the goddesses, the bombshell of the sex kittens, and in many
ways, the epitamy of vintage glamour. In my opinion, blonde is undoubtedly the sexiest hair color of all, and I
do not mean this as a condemnation to any of you brunettes or redheads, but as a recognition to all those beautiful peroxide
princesses out there, who contradict the stereotype, and uphold poise, intellect, and brains! In the words of the great Versace,
"Blonde is not just having a hair colour; it is a way of being and a state of mind." With blonde, comes confidence. A longing,
a *desire* to be bold, and daring, sexy and sultry. It's enterring a whole new realm of femininity! And as many a great
haridresser have said, *anyone* can go blonde. It's all a matter of selecting the right shade for you, in complimenting with your
skin tone. Here at *GBB*, we promote the glories of going golden! So you've got questions? We've got answers!
Color Coding:
Hair colorist experts suggest the following shades, in relation to your natural hair
color. Keep in mind, these are only their general recommendations, and you are never *limited* to a certain shade of blonde.
These suggestions will keep your coif looking as natural as possible. But if you're anything like me, you may take it a little
more Marilyn Monroe, a little less Linda McCartney. ;-) So if you're natural hair color is...
Black: Stick to a warm mahogany.
Dark to Light Brown: Amber, deep chestnut and mid-gold
create a warm, natural glow.
Dark to Light Blonde: Choose warm, shades of honey, copper,
wheat, apricot, or pale blonde.
Red: Have pale, or bleached highlights.
Skin
Pigmentation:
Other tips from the experts...
For Pink Skin Tones with Dark Brunette Hair: Choose
neutral tones, like an ash blonde. Avoid yellow tints, particularly with your skin pigmentation.
Creamy White Skin with Fair Hair: You can wear any color,
but if your hair is dark, too bright a blonde might bring out too much red in the skin.
Pink Skin Tones with Fair-to-Blonde Hair: Stick to an ash
blonde from very light to mousy blonde.
Creamy White Skin with Dark Hair and Eyes: Use gold,
bronze, or reddish blonde lights.
Yellow/Sallow Skin Tones: Stick to cool (non-gold)
hair colors with blue notes.
Olive Skin Tones: Stay dark, but put in a few lowlights
up to two shades lighter if you like.
