In 1994, Stephen Dorff, a 21 year old aspiring starlet, was still on the verge of making his claim as an accomplished actor. Prior to then, he had already appeared in 14 different feature films, most notably the critically acclaimed, "Power of One" (the compelling story of apartheid Africa, and one man's struggle to overcome). However, it wasn't until Stephen landed the role of Stuart Sutcliffe in the film, "Backbeat" that he would trully discover his talents, explore the boundaries of what being an actor was all about, and stake his claim to rising stardom. Upon meeting Astrid Kirchherr in the flesh, she was blown away at first sight of him. Everything from the way he looked, to his mannerisms and the way he smoked, resembled Stuart. "The hair on the back of my neck stood straight up," she proclaimed. After meeting Astrid, Stephen knew he could not fail her. He went on to do one of his most rivetting performances ever, and from that break, has only grown and progressed as an actor/model. You can view the resemblences in these photos below, with Stuart at left, and Stephen at right.

Today, Stephen Dorff is still making movies, and captivating audiences worldwide. Posessing an undeniable sex appeal, and looking just as tempting as his days of portaying the "lost Beatle", it seems Stephen only gets sexier with time. I highly recommend "Entropy" and "Deuces Wild", two of my favorite Stephen flicks. "Entropy" tells the tale of an up and coming director, who falls in love with a French model and from there, "life happens, things change". It is probably one of my favorite movies of all time! "Deuces Wild" on the other hand, is a '50s epic set in a time when street gangs were keeping the peace. James Franco costars in this one, which is reason alone to go see it. To end off our little tribute to the Backbeat Baby, here are a selection of some of Stephen's various modeling assignments. For the good of your own sanitary, please refrain from drooling over the keyboard.
