In 1994, Stephen Dorff, a 21 year old aspiring starlet, was still on the verge of making his claim
as an accomplished actor. Prior to then, he had already appeared in 14 different feature films, most notably the critically
acclaimed, "Power of One" (the compelling story of apartheid Africa, and one man's struggle to overcome). However, it wasn't
until Stephen landed the role of Stuart Sutcliffe in the film, "Backbeat" that he would trully discover his talents, explore
the boundaries of what being an actor was all about, and stake his claim to rising stardom. Upon meeting Astrid Kirchherr
in the flesh, she was blown away at first sight of him. Everything from the way he looked, to his mannerisms and the way he
smoked, resembled Stuart. "The hair on the back of my neck stood straight up," she proclaimed. After meeting Astrid, Stephen
knew he could not fail her. He went on to do one of his most rivetting performances ever, and from that break, has
only grown and progressed as an actor/model. You can view the resemblences in these photos below, with Stuart at left, and
Stephen at right.
